Experienced workers already have the skill.

Now give them the recognition.

Register your interest in our Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA), a fast-track assessment route for experienced construction workers who may be suitable to work towards a Level 2 NVQ without unnecessary retraining, alongside the opportunity for them to apply for their blue card post completion.

Speak to our team

EWPA is designed for experienced construction workers who already have the practical skills, trade knowledge and site experience but do not yet hold the qualification.

Following profiling and eligibility checks, suitable learners may be able to take an assessment-led route towards a Level 2 NVQ, helping them gain formal recognition for the job they are already doing.

This route is intended for experienced workers only and is not a replacement for full training where training is still needed.

Why register interest?

EWPA can help employers and experienced workers:

  • recognise existing skills and experience
  • reduce unnecessary time spent on retraining
  • support progression towards a recognised Level 2 NVQ
  • strengthen workforce compliance and competence recognition
  • support CSCS card progression where applicable

How the process works

  • Register your interest and tell us about the worker, trade area or workforce need.
  • Our team will discuss suitability and next steps.
  • Suitable applicants will go through profiling and pre-assessment checks.
  • If eligible, learners will complete the required application and assessment process.

For employers

If you have experienced workers who can already do the job but still need formal recognition, EWPA could offer a more efficient route to explore.
